Dear Classmates, It is time to begin planning our 35th Class Reunion. The past one was a prelude to the official 35th Reunion. But we need to get organized and form a group with an elected board that we all recognize and trust. And I would like to help us form this group and then elect the board so that we can begin to plan our next and future reunions. So here’s what I am asking.
Because we have so many class members located elsewhere, we should also have “Captains” that would represent these other areas. They would meet with the board and then hold a meeting with their local people. So for example, say there are 2 board members in Jersey, 1 in Atlanta and 1 in N.C., I’m a Captain representing the VA area, I would meet with the 4 board members and then I would have a meeting with the people in the VA area. This should easily facilitate communicating the group messages. Once the board is formed then they can ensure the business aspect of the group is in place, such bank account, business name, non-profit filing, etc. If we make it legitimate for the beginning, there should be little or no worries. We will need to impose some sort of Dues structure because as a new group, we will be have any funds. Dues will be determined once the group has been formed. The process is very simple and the meetings are something you can do from home. |
